Monitor and Control Charging of Your EV from the Palm of Your Hand!

Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (SELCO) has partnered with its energy efficiency program manager, Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company, (MMWEC), to offer a rebate on the purchase of a Wi-Fi-equipped Level 2 residential electric vehicle (EV) charger. The rebate amount is up to $350 or 50% of the cost of the charger (whichever is less) to customers who enroll in the Connected Homes  program. Please note that the customer is responsible for hiring an electrician to install the EV charger and to determine if the existing electrical service is adequately sized to accommodate the new EV charger.

The Connected Homes Program  leverages the technology of smart appliances and devices into cost savings for the light department and its customers. The program allows SELCO to better manage its electric load, reduce costs, and keep rates low. More information on Connected Homes and a list of compatible chargers and qualifying EV manufacturers can be found on the Connected Homes webpage.

Customers who receive the EV charger rebate are not eligible to receive the Connected Homes program incentive for their EV charger or their EV for 36 months. If the EV charger or the EV is removed from the Connected Homes Program prior to completion of the agreed upon term (36 months), a one-time charge of the rebated amount will be applied to the customer’s account to recover the rebate.

To be eligible for the rebate, either enroll in Connected Homes with your EV Charger OR your EV.
