Energy Audits

Home and Multi Family-Building energy audits can provide a greater level of information to those customers wishing to implement major energy conservation projects in their home or rented space. The NextZero Residential Audit Service is provided to those customers who have used the NextZero toll-free energy conservation hotline or online scheduler, and who qualify based on the age of their home & rental spaces, existing insulation levels, and other requirements. Those customers who complete an in-home energy audit project are eligible for Home Efficiency rebates. For more information on home energy audits, call our toll-free number and speak with our staff.

The ReSource Audits focus on ways that customers can reduce carbon usage by evaluating the insulation and air sealing, heating and cooling systems, appliances, water usage, and solar PV potential of the home. The program also offers a separate air source heat pump assessment to interested customers that provides education and support to whatever extent they require- from learning about the technology and helping customers find a contractor to reviewing plans or calculating a right-sized system to be installed. The assessment is a way for customers to feel confident in their choice and purchase equipment that will improve their comfort, while reducing their heating costs and emissions

Customers of Ipswich Electric Light Department may call the toll-free hotline or email resourceipswich@cetonline.org with any questions concerning energy conservation in their home. Our staff has a wealth of information about all aspects of residential energy conservation, and can provide it either by mail or email. We can also assist or direct you to a number of different web-based resources providing online information on many conservation measures, as well as online energy audits you can conduct on your own.

Ipswich Electric Light Department customers can now schedule their home energy assessments online in addition to using the toll-free hotline. Multi-family audits must be scheduled through the toll-free hotline or by emailing resourceipswich@cetonline.org.
