
The Energy Saver Home Loan Program (ESHLP) helps eligible Massachusetts homeowners cut their energy use and reduce or eliminate their reliance on fossil fuels. The program is offered through the Massachusetts Community Climate Bank and MassHousing, in partnership with the Center for EcoTechnology. The ESHLP provides eligible homeowners with the following benefits:

Residents installing qualified heat pump and heat pump water heater equipment in existing single-family or multifamily homes qualify for instant incentives through the New England Heat Pump Accelerator. Incentives are $650/heat pump condenser and $300/heat pump water heater condenser for sales as of February 1, 2026 and are applied at the point of sale at participating distributors. Finance Your Home Energy Upgrades with the $0-Interest Z-Loan
Upgrade your home’s comfort and efficiency with zero interest. Through the Z-Loan program, eligible customers can access up to $25,000 per property with a flexible five year maximum repayment term.
The Z-loan is available to owners of residential properties that receive electric or gas service from an MLP and are not eligible for Mass Save® programs. Before beginning any upgrades, a qualifying home energy assessment must be completed, and the measures identified will be eligible for the Z-Loan. Customers can visit www.myz-loan.com to apply for a Z-Loan. Improvements should not be started before approval is received from a participating lender.

Eligibility Requirement: To qualify, you must have completed a Home Energy Assessment (HEA) within the last two years, and all measures financed through the loan must be officially recommended in your audit report.
