How to Conserve Energy
The power to conserve rests with each of us. It’s the choices you make on a daily basis that become the habits that drive how you use energy.
Such choices include behavioral changes, like shutting the computer monitor off at night, as well as simple improvements that can make a big difference, like putting the television and other electronics on a smart power strip, installing a programmable thermostat, and replacing light bulbs with more efficient compact fluorescent bulbs. Bigger changes, like purchasing ENERGY STAR® appliances or installing more insulation in your home, mean bigger savings. These are the choices that ultimately will keep you from wasting energy and help you save on your energy costs. Some measures take little to no expense while other measures will cost you more and take experienced installers to implement, but it all starts with a choice to use energy wisely every day.
